Question: Can I use a paper trading account for both platforms (TWS, TSG)?
Answer: Sure, It only depends on the type of Trading Mode during login to TWS platform. If you select Live Trading Mode in TWS, you will also use Live Trading Mode in TSG platform. On the other hand, if you select Paper Trading as your Trading Mode in TWS, you will use also Paper Trading Mode in TSG.
Question: I cannot see Trading Mode PAPER TRADING, What’s wrong with it?
Answer: You probably did not subscribe to open paper trading account. So, how to do that?
1) Login into your IB account as usual.
2) Click on: MENU > SETTING > ACCOUNT SETTINGS PAPER > TRADING ACCOUNT
3) Then select CONFIGURATION and fill there required information to open your Paper Account and confirm.
4) Regarding the following question: “Share real-time market data subscriptions with the paper trading account?” Make sure that your answer will be “YES”. This means that you will share your market data with both accounts: live trading account and paper trading account as well.
5) If you manage to send your requirement till 4. p.m. your Paper Trading Account will be opened till next day.
6) Attention! You must choose another username than you have for your Live Trading Account.
Question: How to change preset initial capital of my paper trading account?
Answer:
1) Login into your IB account as usual.
2) Click on: MENU > SETTING > ACCOUNT SETTINGS PAPER >TRADING ACCOUNT
3) Click on: CONFIGURATION > PAPER TRADING ACCOUNT RESET
4) You can change the amount of initial capital as you want.
